The Hannon Group is pleased to announce that Mr. Jason Booms, M.A., has joined the company as Director, Strategic Research and Communications. In his new role, Mr. Booms will be responsible for managing the company’s market research group, which includes working with clients to design effective research strategies; guiding and supporting project implementation, evaluation, and reporting; and conducting business development activities.

Mr. Booms brings 29 years of experience in strategic communications and market research to The Hannon Group. With a background that includes leading primary research and media intelligence initiatives, Mr. Booms has helped inform and enhance public affairs, reputation management, stakeholder engagement, thought leadership, and crisis communications campaigns. He has worked with corporations, associations, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and academic institutions. His work spans multiple sectors, with a particular focus on health care, biopharmaceutical, energy, transportation, and infrastructure challenges.

Prior to joining The Hannon Group, Mr. Booms helmed his own strategic research consultancy for over a decade. He served as the Managing Director, North America with CARMA, a global media intelligence firm. Mr. Booms was also a Senior Vice President, Consulting with GfK, one of the world’s largest market research firms. Earlier in his career, he helped establish and grow the communications research practice of Edelman (now the world’s largest PR agency). As a Senior Vice President with StrategyOne (now Edelman Intelligence), he directed the DC office’s primary research operations. Prior to joining Edelman, he served as the Director of Research with The Polling Company™, a DC-based political research firm.

In addition to his work with The Hannon Group, Mr. Booms recently joined the faculty of Georgetown University as an Adjunct Lecturer in their School of Continuing Studies, where he teaches communications research.

Mr. Booms earned a Master of Arts in Communication from Southern New Hampshire University. He also possesses a Bachelor of Arts in Political Theory from Michigan State University. He is a member of the Public Relations Society of America.
